Tips for Success in the Course

  • Dedicate time to the course.
    • You will need allocate much time to read, draft essays, and review your peers' essays.
  • Begin your coursework early.
    • While you have a choice as to when to turn in essays, it is recommended that you do not wait until the last few weeks of the course to turn in your essays.  Students often find themselves in a time crunch at the end of the quarter resulting in rushed submission of essays as they try to balance writing an essay for this course and completing other major writing assignments in other courses.
  • Continue to review the material.
    • As the course progresses, review what you learned the previous week.  By doing this, you won't be cramming for the Mid-Term and Final exams.

  • Adhere to due dates.
    • Late essays will not be accepted.
    • Discussion boards will not be reopened once they close.

    • I am here to help support you, and I am always available.
    • I want you to develop a solid foundation in criminological theories and become stronger scholarly writers.
