Counseling is a profession where the knowledge you gain in your graduate program will be applied to your work on a day-to-day basis. Although demonstrating that you have memorized facts on a quiz is not the best way to show you can apply knowledge it is important that you practice taking multiple choice exams.
Purpose: In the third year of this program, you will take the Counselor Preparation Comprehensive Examination (CPCE) that covers the eight main areas of the CACREP curriculum. In addition, you must take either the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE) in all states to become a fully licensed professional counselor. All three of these examinations are multiple choice and timed. Therefore, in this course we are doing quizzes to help you learn the material for both memory and for application and to practice taking the CPCE and either the NCE or the NCMHCE.
Quizzes are all open book and untimed. You will have two attempts per quiz. Quizzes should be taken individually. Consulting each other on the quizzes will be considered cheating. As ethical counselors, you are trusted to follow these rules for quiz taking! This week's quiz will focus on concepts from your Corey et al. (2019) textbook reviewed over modules 1-3.
