Week 3 - Law and Ethics in Data Collection and Surveillance Part I
Privacy was many decades ago defined as "the right to be let alone." Today we might define privacy as "the rules we have and the morals we aspire to honor as a society in the collection, use and disclosure of personal information." In this module you will learn about the rules that afford us a right to privacy and how different jurisdictions and federal agencies approach its protection. You will review how this human right intersects with technology and understand the challenges for businesses in collecting, managing and using big data.
