1. Read:

• Critical Resistance, “Reformist Reforms vs. Abolitionist Steps Policing.” Links to an external site. 

• Optional: This webinar where you get to hear the authors of Prison by Any Other Name in conversation with Mariame Kaba.Abolish Policing, Not Just the Police Links to an external site.

2. By Tuesday at 11am, post your reading analysis.

 

WHAT WE WILL DO WHEN WE MEET

• Monday's class will be the first meeting of your fictional group for the group assignment to create a campaign to end SU's relationship with SPD and abolish campus security. I will attend this meeting and help you establish some basic norms and guidelines for your work together as a group. Please read the excerpt from Mutual Aid before this meeting.
• Wednesday's class period will focus on the other two readings for the week.

 

WHAT TO DO AFTER WE MEET

By Thursday at 9am, post  a short post answering these questions:

• What "aha" moments happened for you in class this week regarding these readings?
• What is the "muddiest point" for you about this week's readings right now?
