Week 2 Overview
Overview
Contextualizing information supplies the background knowledge, critical features, big ideas, and relationships that facilitate students' ability to transfer and generalize their new knowledge.
In this space, write a paragraph or two that contextualizes what you will be doing in this module, outlining how this topic ties into what has come before and how it will inform what is coming next. Think of this as your first five minutes in an on-campus class. What would you say to the students to excite them about the topic? Why is this topic important and how does it fit into the bigger picture? How is it relevant to what is currently going on in the field and what implications might that have for other fields? What do you want students to pay close attention to and what questions should they be asking themselves as they move through the material? In addition, you might offer tips for assignments that are due this week or point out how the material is critical for other assignments that are coming up.
