Time-Stamped Video Discussions
One of Canvas Studio's most useful features is the ability to place a video—your own video or a YouTube Video—within a comment space. As students watch the video, they can insert comments at specific points. They can also reply to each other's comments. This is a great way for students to comment on specific instances in a video; for film analyses, for giving feedback about classmates' presentations, and for requesting clarification on difficult concepts within tutorial videos. It's also ridiculously easy to do. When you embed a Canvas Studio video on a page by clicking on the Studio icon in the text editing window and selecting a video, the default option is Allow Comments. All you have to do is the default settings as is and click Embed. The result will look like the example below.
