CARLOS BELLO

 


Carlos Bello is a Sophomore at Seattle University majoring in Computer Science. Carlos chose Computer Science as his major because he believes that Technology and Computers can be used to improve the lives of people around the world. He aims to one day develop technology to assist and improve the lives of as much people as he can, especially the marginalized in society. He enjoys working at the Center because he gets to use his practical skills, especially in technology, for the betterment of society by connecting others to information about the different religious communities across the world. Carlos contributes to the Center through editing podcasts, editing videos, conducting research, and developing its websites.

  1. Reflection: Dr. Trice and Mr. Bello talk about the impact of Mr. Bello's jesuit education on his values and personhood-have you had education or educational values which have an impactful lesson on your life? What does that impact look like?

Reflection : Mr. Bello talked about how he values pragmatism, a philosophy which assesses the truth of meanings of theories or beliefs in terms of the success of their practical application, which he used to help plan and facilitate the events of the charity Kalinga est. 2020. When have you used pragmatism in your life to help you or others be successful? 

  3. Activity:  Have you had a similar impact and government response to the pandemic as Mr. Bello has in the Philippines? How has your countries similarities or differences allow you to understand someone else's identity and experience through this pandemic? Discuss if you can with someone who has had a different pandemic experience than yours about their experiences.
