Centering Wisdom

Reflection:

How can we provide resources for homeless individuals who are staying with friends or family that are also capacity? Would state and non-profit resources be distributed differently if they took into account how many people are on the cusp of homelessness in addition to those who are defined as homeless persons?

How can we support homeless individuals when a double bind has been set that they can not exist in public spaces even as a patron? The example Heather gave was being asked to leave in coffee shops despite purchasing items.

Activity:

In a small group discuss the social and physiological barriers Heather was facing that were preventing her from moving into a more secure position. How can the stigmatization of homelessness affect you even after you have been removed from a precarious living situation?
