H5P
Finding the right tool to complete your project can feel like a daunting task. The beauty of H5P is that it offers many types of activities and once you learn the basic navigation, it's easy to create a wide range of content types.
Signing up for H5P
Sign up for a free account at https://h5p.org/ Links to an external site.. Once you have created an exercise, you can embed it on a Canvas page by copying and pasting the embed code. This technique will work best for activities that are simple to create and replicate. However, CDLI does have a "Pro" license, which gives us access to more stable online storage. You are welcome to download your activity and send it to CDLI so we can upload it to our H5P site. We would then give you new embed code to place in Canvas.
Types of Interactions
Check out the full list of examples on their website Links to an external site.or take a look at a few examples we've created.
- Accordion: This isn't an activity, but it is a nice way to display a lot of content on a single Canvas page.
- Hotspot: This image has several hotspots providing students more information. A hotspot can display plain text, an image or a video. Unfortunately text formatting is limited.
- Drag the Words: This is a short activity that can easily be embedded around content for a little brain break.
- Image Sequence: Students are asked to place images in the correct order.
- Interactive Video Links to an external site.: Add multiple choice questions, pop-ups, or other interactives to a video.
-
Course Presentation: This H5P content allows you to build a whole lesson which includes many types of H5P interactives.
