Welcome Letter

Send a welcome letter before your class starts that introduces you to your students, provides information about your course, and encourages them to read the orientation materials and post questions in an open questions discussion.

Clear Expectations

Clarify expectations around communication. Let students know the best way to contact you and how fast they can expect a reply. If there are times that you cannot be available, let them know that, too. Messages can go astray online so assure students that if they haven't heard back from you within the given time frame, they should contact you again.

Open Lab Hours

Offer open lab hours each week. This is easy to do via Zoom and can even be recorded and uploaded into Canvas if you wind up covering something you feel could be benefit all the students.
