A Note About Using Publisher's Tools
The goal is for every Seattle University online course to reflect a unique, Ignatian-inspired experience. Textbook publisher materials, and other websites and materials, can be useful resources. However, these materials should not take the place of regular, substantial instructor contact and teaching, nor should they diminish the look and feel of the course template elements. Also, these materials should not be used as primary course assessments.
Integration of Textbook Publisher Materials
If you plan to connect to outside resources via an integration with Canvas, there is a possibility that the integration will need to be approved by the Seattle University Information Technology Services department. Please talk with your instructional designer early in the design process to avoid delays. Below is an example of publisher materials integrated into Canvas from Gabe Saucedo's Principles of Accounting course:
Gabe covers how Cengage will be used in the Course Overview section |
He provides links to the Cengage Homework in the Modules as well as Module Landing Pages |
He uses Canvas Assignments to direct students to their Cengage Homework |
The Link in the assignment description opens the Cengage Portal in a New Window |
