MEETING 1: What We'll Do

Robot 1We are going to jump right in and look at some homepage ideas during our meeting. Before you completely finish building your course, you may decide to change the look of your course homepage, but for now, it's a nice way to explore the Canvas Rich Text Editor; to think about how your course navigation will work; and to reflect on what it is you want to communicate to your students from the moment they step into your course.

In addition, today we will explore some ways to find images you can use without fear of copyright infringement and begin introducing you to some best practices for accessibility compliance.

What to Do Before We Meet Again

  • Build out a homepage using a template and an image you have found (and added alt text to).
  • Do the Empathy Mapping Exercise and download the results so that we can talk about it next time. (See Homework.)
