Week 6: Overview

Map

Finally, we are at the stage where you will be mapping your course out on paper. Over the years we have found that this paper map is critical to moving your materials into Canvas. So come enjoy large sheets of paper and endless office supplies. Make sure to bring a list of your major assignments with you and the instructional designers will be circulating so that you can ask questions at any point.

This week we will also be giving everyone a Canvas Course Template to work in and you will have some homework. See the homework section below for instructions.

Things to Consider This Week

  • Decide if you want to map your course on paper (traditional) or using the online Flow Planner. Your Choice.
  • Take a look at your course through different lenses.
  • You might me interested in seeing a few map examples from other faculty.

Your Homework

Your homework after we meet this week is to go through two tutorials, one on copyright and one on accessibility. Afterwards you will go into the Canvas Course Template we have provided for you and fill out the Course Overview page. To start your homework, go to the Copyright and Accessibility Homework section.
