Course Design Expectations
As with all things worth doing, this program will require a commitment of both time and energy. We use a flipped model, meaning there will be a fair amount of work outside of our weekly sessions. Completing the homework is essential to your success and many of our in-class activities build on what you have accomplished outside of class.
Weekly Workshops
Course Design workshops are on Tuesdays from 2:00 - 3:00 and Wednesdays from 9:30 - 10:30. We promise to get you out on time, but to do so we always start right on time. If you can't make it to a workshop on your scheduled day, you can always jump into the alternate day's workshop. If you are unable to attend a workshop, please contact Mafil Fabroquez, our coordinator, to arrange a make-up session.
One-on-One Instructional Design Meetings
In addition to our weekly meetings, you will be teamed with an instructional designer for one-on-one assistance. We will talk more about the role of instructional designers in a few weeks, but for now just know that these meetings typically begin around the third week of the course, and are scheduled at times that are mutually convenient for you and your assigned designer.
