Adding Media to Your Posts

Adding Images

In your blog posts you can include much more than just text. For instance you can include an image of some of your ideas or notes. Often these will come in with image captions. To add an image simply click on the Add Media button above the post editing window. When the Add Media Window opens you can either upload your image file or browse for an image you have already uploaded. Select the image you want and click Insert Media.

 

When you place an image in your post you can decide if you want it to be centered or aligned right or left and if you want the type to wrap around the image or not. All of those choices can be accessed by clicking on the image. Note that your image and text may look different (better) when seen in Preview mode rather than Edit mode.

Adding Files

You can also attach a file. Again, the way to do that is to click on Add Media and upload (or browse for) your file and click Insert Media.

Adding Videos

To add a video when editing a post, click the Add Media button content editor toolbar, choose Insert from URL in the pop-up window, and paste in the URL of your video.

 

Next, click the Insert into Post button on the bottom-right corner of this pop-up window. Your video will automatically be inserted into your post.

 

Embedding Other Multimedia

You can also include most things that have an embed code in your posts by copying an embed code, switching to the Text Editor rather than Visual Editor and pasting the code into the text window. To see how your embedded media looks, switch back to the Visual Editor.
