Configuring your Site - Header Image and Contact Form

You will probably want to change the homepage header image to something that represents you. It's okay if don't want a picture of yourself on the homepage but it is a good idea to have your picture somewhere in the site, such as the About Me page. 

Update Header Image

You change the header image by clicking the Appearance navigation item on your Dashboard.

On the next screen select Choose File to upload your image.

Then click Select Files [1], search your computer for your image and open it [2]. It's recommended that your image is around 1200px - 2000px wide depending on your Wordpress theme. Worpdress will automatically crop the height of your image, as shown below.

Next, click the Upload button.

On the next screen, place your cursor inside the box, and then click and hold, then move the selection as you'd like the image to appear on your site, and finally click the Crop and Publish button.

Your new image is now set as the header!

 

Update Contact Form

The Contact Me page on your site contains a form where your visitors can leave you a message. To enure that you receive email notifications from your visitors, you need to set yourself as author of the Contact Me page.

First, click the All Pages tab on your Wordpress Dashboard left-hand navigation, locate the Contact Me page, and click Quick Edit.

On the Quick Edit screen, open the Author dropdown menu and choose your username [1] and then click the Update button [2].
