Finding and Using (Copyright-Free) Images

 

There are several ways for you to obtain images to use in your Canvas course. See below for the best resources and the library guide for image citations. 

thinkstock.png Thinkstock Photos: As one of the largest stock image services in the world, Thinkstock is the best resource for getting stock images to use in your course. Follow the  Download Faculty Guide - How to Get Thinkstock Photos to get your images.
library.jpg Lemieux Library: The library has lots of resources for how to obtain art and images for your course. The libguide Links to an external site. on using images is a great place to start. The library has access to images for the arts, medical, science & engineering, history, and government. 
artstor2.png Artstor: This digital media library Links to an external site. contains more than 2 million high-quality images for education and research from a wide variety of contributors around the world. Through our library subscription, that means faculty and students have access to some of the rarest and most famous artwork in the world. 
citation.png Image Citation: Depending on the license terms for the image you select, you may be required to cite your image. Thinkstock photos do not require citation, but other images may.
