How to Set Up a Discussion

If you are using Modules (and we encourage you to do so) the easiest way to set up a new discussion is to go to the module where you want your assignment to appear. (Don't worry if you are not sure where you want the discussion; you can drag the discussion around and even to other modules after you have created it.)
Step 1
Click in the plus sign in the Module row.
Step 2
This will open up the Item window. Choose Discussion from the drop down menu.
Step 3
Choose [New Topic] from the list. Give your discussion a Topic Name and click Save.
Step 4
Now your discussion will appear in the module. Click on the discussion name to open.
Step 5
Click on Edit to add your discussion question and other details.
Step 6
(1) Add instructions using the Rich Text Editor. (2) Allowing threaded replies is always a good idea. (3) Remember to save your discussion edits.
