How to Set Up a Content Page

Content Pages are one of the most useful items in Canvas. If you are using Modules (and we encourage you to do so) the easiest way to create a new page is to go to the Module where you want your page to appear. (Don't worry if you are not sure where you want the page; you can drag the page around and even to other modules after you have created it.)

Step 1

Click in the plus sign in the Module row.

Step 2

Choose "Content Page" from the dropdown menu.

Step 3

Choose [New Page] from the list of pages. Write the page name in the Page Name text box and then click Add Item.

Step 4

Now your new page will appear in the Module. Click on the page's name to open.

Step 5

Once the page opens you can click on Edit to add text, images, videos, links and more using the Rich Text Editor.

Using the Rich Text Editor

Detailed information about the many things you can create using the Rich Text Editor can be found in the CDLI Help Center Links to an external site. (try the "Posting Your Syllabus on the Course Home Page" section for starters).
