Week 4: Assignment Design
Before the Workshop
- You should have prepared a list of major assignments for your course.
- Please select one of your assignments for our in-class Assignment Design Charrette activity and prepare the answers to the reflective questions outlined in the previous module such as assignment purpose, context, your experience with the assignment and what you hope to gain from your peer's feedback.
During the Workshop
This week we will be working in pairs or small groups on a "Design Charrette" activity. The purpose of the activity is to solicit feedback from your peers about a planned assignment. You will work with a partner to refine this assignments and to make sure that it truly supports the takeaways that you identified during last week's workshop.
After the Workshop
HOMEWORK
Continue working on your assignments as needed and start to develop associated rubrics or explanations of your assessment criteria.
READ AHEAD AND PREPARE
Next week we will be mapping out your course on paper. If you want to read ahead to Mapping on Paper, feel free to do so but it is not required. However, since you will build out your map from your major assignments, please bring at least a list of those with you next week.
