Does Technology Revolutionize Education?
We think this video by Derek Alexander Muller Links to an external site., an Australian-Canadian science communicator does a nice job of explaining that for all the hoopla and hand-wringing technology has never truly revolutionized education. As Muller points out, learning is still "inherently a social activity, motivated and encouraged by interactions with others." The fundamental role of the instructor remains one of a guide in the social process of learning, one who inspires, challenges and excites students to take ownership of their learning.
