Read the Safety Guidelines for 3D Printing and the take this quiz

Like any machinery, 3D printer should be used with care.

 

Hazards

- Extruder, filament, and motors are HOT during operation and during cool down. Avoid contact with the nozzle, as it can heat up to 290 degrees. 

- While the motors are moving it is best NOT TO BUMP or TOUCH the moving head. Doing this to can cause the fuse to blow in the print. When the printer is working it is best to leave it alone.

- Removal tools are SHARP! Sometimes things can be difficult to remove from the print bed so be careful not to get to eager and hurt yourself.

 

Dos!

 - Do clean up after yourself

- Do inform a mentor of a machine error or damage

- Do inform a mentor of missing tools or supplies

- Do ask a mentor if you have any question or concerns

- Do exercise caution using cleaning tools

 

Don'ts

-Don't use the printer unless you have been trained

-Don't attempt to modify or fix a printer without mentor approval

- Don't touch the printers head while in operation
