Welcome to the Table Templates site.At CDLI Links to an external site. we recognize that the Canvas Text Editor is very rudimentary. Canvas has been promising a better version but in the meantime we wanted faculty at Seattle University to be able to focus on their learning design rather than fighting with formatting issues in the text editor. With that in mind we created a number of templates that you can grab and use in your own courses. We tried to keep these templates very simple so that you can make changes as needed. Please take a look at the various options. We have a number of homepage templates and a number of content page templates. You can click on the thumbnail images at right, peruse the options by using the Modules list at left or start with the the first hompage and walk through the entire series. Some of the first homepage templates use banners that were created in Canva Links to an external site.. They will work with other images but we think Canva is an easy way to design a banner and other faculty who have tried Canva agree. When you have decided which template you want to use you can follow the instructions on the How to Use These Templates page but basically you will be grabbing the code from the bottom of the page, pasting it into one of your own content pages and then changing the images and text to suit your needs. Any pictures or text can be hyperlinked to other sections of your course or to sites outside your course. In addition to the demo templates we also provide some basic tables that you can use to design a homepage yourself. These can be found the Basic Tables Module. If you want to change the table structure (add or subtract cells, change cell background color or the vertical alignment) we find it is easiest to use an html editor like HTMLEditor.in Links to an external site. Please let us know if you run into any problems or need help with these templates. cdli@seattleu.edu Otherwise, enjoy creating your pages! The CDLI Team |
